Dog friendly places in Alicante

Finding a restaurant that allows dogs inside in Alicante is strangely difficult, compared to Madrid where there’s much more acceptance of a reasonably small dog.

Coffee shops

• Point Bianco Specialty Coffee very good coffee, yummy genuine Italian pastries and they’ll even give your dog a treat.
• Sip and Wonder - Specialty Coffee & Brunch. One of the first dog friendly cafes although the original owner and his boxer have moved on.
• Swallow Great coffee in the old town

Restaurants

• Generally anywhere with a terrace is fine. The ones below allow your dog inside:
• Goiko Grill
• Crêperie El Molino de Paris looks really nice and has great reviews but never open when I want a crepe.
• Mandala Café
• Mareando la Huerta. Healthy and yummy food. Been there a couple times.

Shopping

• Corte Ingles allow dogs less than 10kg except in the supermarket/club gourmet. Great place to desensitize your puppy.

Beach

• Agua Amarga beach: a dog beach, but you have to drive. it’s south of Alicante just before Urbanova.
• Playa San Juan: officially you aren’t allow to take your dog, but unofficially you can take them for a walk along the beach October-April and no one will complain.
